OVERVIEW OF CTG GLOBAL

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Monitoring Engineer the on-site Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for assisting with all construction management tasks required to ensure timely, cost effective, safe and quality delivery of the project. His/her main responsibilities will be:
-Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with contracts, specifications, and etc.
-Problem solving in a timely manner.
-Preparing monthly project reports
-Overseeing technical aspects of contracts and provide guidance to contractors where required.
-Responsible for the issue of meeting minutes and all other documentation to relevant government agencies.
-Written and verbal translations as required.
-Any other business as directed by supervisor
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education
-Master degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline; a bachelor degree with additional years of relevant work experience, may substitute for the requirement for a Master degree.
Work Experience
-Minimum 7 years of demonstrable experience of undertaking measurements in a construction environment.
-Experience of construction procedures and methods in the Middle East.
-Must have excellent IT skills in the application of computers in the above duties, including work processing, spread sheet and bill of quantities; Word; Outlook.
-Adept at understanding construction drawings and able to measure and take off accurately.
-Understanding of the inter-relationship between bills, specifications and drawings.
-Understanding the importance of business Procedures.
-Understanding of construction contracts in relation to projects and of the relevance of sub contract terms and conditions.
-Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team.
-Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people.
-Understanding of Health & Safety issues at work and on site.
Key Competencies
-Professionalism: Strong analytical and organisational skills; Eye for detail and accuracy; Experience with database software/web applications; The ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines; Up-to-date knowledge of technology and the Data Protection Act; Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing.
-Client Orientation: Ability to identify and analyse client security needs and develop solution specifications to meet business requirements.
Communications: Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts both orally and in writing, in a clear, concise manner. Ability to formulate detailed technical reports.
Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations with people in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Languages
-Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
