The European Union Co-ordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support (EUPOL COPPS) is seeking dynamic, highly skilled professionals for immediate recruitment for the vacancy mentioned below:
Job Title : Finance Assistant
Reference number : TMSL001/14-15
Status : Temporary Position – 3 Months with
possibility of maximum 1 Month Extension
Location : Ramallah
Closing Date : December 07, 2014
Estimated Starting date : January 02, 2015
Reporting line: Chief of Finance - Accountable to Head of Mission Support
Main tasks:
-To perform administrative duties in finance section; maintain both electronic and hard copy filing and registry systems of financial documentation in office and archive room; keeping track of necessary documentation and items needed in finance department such as contracts, updating induction training information, checking that all necessary administrative items are always in order (for example stamps, files, stationary);
-To assist at budget preparation and modification processes, as well at gathering forecast information from different offices;
-To check, register and give initial approval for incoming procurement requests according to the mission budget;
-To register and calculate the statements of mission expenditures;
-To register and process incoming invoices for payments ensuring that the expenses were eligible and correctly procured; to prepare and follow up payments with vendors; to process the invoices and other documentation related to projects funded from mission core budget (Quick Impact Projects) as well as other projects related to external donors;
-To register the expenditures in accounting software (SAGE) on a monthly basis;
-Petty Cash custodian during the leave of other Finance Officer;
-To perform any other tasks requested by Chief of Finance / Finance Officer.
Qualifications and Experience:
-Successful completion of secondary education;
-Minimum 5 years of work experience in finance field.
-Previous experience in an International environment.
-Excellent level of written and spoken English and Arabic. A working knowledge in Hebrew an advantage.
-Excellent Computer skills required: MS Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and accounting software.
-Ability to prioritize and manage a high workload on occasions.
-Excellent organisational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to take initiative and careful attention to details.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations as a team member
