Coordination Officer
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an independent, neutral organization
ensuring humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of war and armed violence. It takes
action in response to emergencies and at the same time promotes respect for international
humanitarian law and its implementation in national law.
Your Job (specific and general activities)
• Responsible for coordination for the staff of the ICRC and PRCS in and out of Gaza strip.
• Regularly follows the crossing procedures as required by relevant authorities by phone or Email contacts.
• Crosschecks the received requested permits and gathers the right information with relevant authorities.
• Ensures the follow up of the employee’s and programs’ permits on renewal regularly and
timely for all departments.
• Is aware of all the coordination of the goods related to the ICRC projects for all departments.
• Organizes and/or participates to all internal/external meetings relevant to the Coordination of persons / goods.
• Contributes to the analysis of the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment
relevant to the ICRC and share relevant information with colleagues.
• Provides the ICRC management with regular reports, pending permits and coordination.
• Contributes to minutes of meeting and workshops attended.
• Ensures proper treatment and filing of all relevant documents.
• Is in charge of managing and updating the database for Gaza crossing.
• Insures accurate and timely transmission of information about crossing procedures in and out
to Gaza for all ICRC staff concerned.
Your Profile (skills & experience required)
• University degree or professional diploma
• 3-5 years work experience in a similar field
• Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
• Very Good computer skills
• Capacity to carry out complex activities / files in various fields
• Strong capacity to prioritize tasks and to say “No” when needed
• Diplomacy and good negotiation skills
