Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an independent humanitarian medical aid organization committed to two objectives: providing medical aid whenever needed,
regardless of race, religion, politics or gender, and raising awareness of the plight of the people who helps. MSF is working in more than 70 countries all around the world.
MSF –Spain is carrying out a psychological support program with medical and social component.
The aim is to provide short-term psychotherapy to people affected by violence and conflict.
MSF-Spain is currently seeking to hire a full time LOGISTICS MANAGER for its coordination office in JERUSALEM. This position is permanent starting approximately on the 19th of October
2013.
Description of the post:
Define and implement technical and logistics strategies and support to the field in collaboration
with the Head of Mission and Logistics Advisor, ensuring the pertinence and coherence of logistics
programmes, adequacy of the means provided and the compliance of MSF standards and protocols
in order to enable the development of the mission in perfect working conditions and optimise the
impact of the medical projects.
Requirements:
-Education: Essential secondary education. Desirable university diploma.
-Experience: Essential working experience of at least three (3) years in a managerial/supervisory
position in at least one (1) of the following area: logistics/transport, procurement/supply.
-Desirable previous experience with MSF or other INGOs.
-Languages: English and Arabic essential (oral and written); Hebrew (oral essential, written
desirable)
-Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet), IT, basic understanding of the
different logistics families (construction and rehabilitation, stock and supply of medical and
non medical material, transport, communications, water and sanitation, vehicles and engines,
equipment/installation and infrastructures)
-Competencies: Analytical thinking, Quality and results orientation, Planning and Organisation
-Administrative status: Ability to travel between Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories
