The Jerusalem Princess Basma for Disabled Children is a non-profit, non-governmental, organization based in Jerusalem serving children with disabilities in field of both rehabilitation and education and is recruiting for the position:
IT Officer
General Roles and Responsibilities:
-Performance of specific technical functions, including changing of hardware electronic components
(disks, memories, network wiring, power sources, etc.) and routine repairs.
-Maintain the website, all upgraded and modifications as needed. Provide training to staff on
utilization of the website, training on data entry and document upload.
-Installation of commercial and in-house developed software and related upgrades.
-Upgrading patch and anti-virus programs on a timely basis.
-Monitoring of file server traffic, usage and performance on a frequent and regular basis.
-Support to users in backing up and restoring their files, as well as in virus detection, removal and prevention.
-Trouble-shooting and monitoring of network problems.
-Response to user needs and questions regarding network access.
-Backup and restoration procedures for local drives. Maintenance of backup logs. Organization of off-site storage of backups.
-Maintenance of an up-to-date inventory of software and hardware.
-Maintenance of a library of ICT related reference materials.
-Maintenance of the inventory and stock of supplies and spare parts in cooperation with the Procurement Unit.
-Maintenance of the filing system ensuring safekeeping of confidential materials.
-Extraction of data from various sources.
-Research and retrieval of data from internal and external sources; preparation of statistical charts, tables and reports as required.
-Provision of ICT support to key events.
-Ensures a functional LAN and WAN at all times, by monitoring the performance of the Network.
-Ensures efficiency and effectiveness of IT support.
-Ensures the implementation of ICT projects in a timely schedule (AD, Firewall, LAN, WAN monitoring and Website).
-Provides reports on ongoing projects as needed.
-Performs other duties as requested by Line Manager.
Qualifications:
-University Degree in computer science/engineering with relevant certifications in hardware and
software management and application, Microsoft Certified Professional is preferable.
-Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, including network administration, support to
management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunications facilities, knowledge of
Windows-based packages/applications. -Fluency in Arabic and English languages. Hebrew is a plus.
-Ability to work in a team, both as leader and participant. Ability to work under pressure.
-Ability to manage different and multiple tasks and to deliver in a short period of time.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
