Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR) is a non-profit non-governmental organization that is nationally recognized for its comprehensive, specialized and inclusive health, rehabilitation and development programs for the Palestinian population. As part of a partnership agreement signed with the French NGO Handicap International in order to implement a project funded by Canada-DFATD entitled "Improved Access to Essential Services for Persons with Disabilities in Highly Marginalized Areas of Qalqilya & Tulkarm Districts, BASR is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Position Title: Field Physiotherapist
Location: Qalqilya
Accountable To: Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Program Manager
Duration: One year contract, with possibility of extension
Job Type: Full time
Job Summary:
-Assist the mobile team members in screening and assessing the needs of the targeted communities in Bethlehem and Hebron districts.
-Conduct home visits on daily basis to assess and identify the needed physiotherapy interventions for the targeted beneficiaries.
-Coordinate with the outreach team members to identify a rehabilitation plan for each beneficiary and propose the appropriate interventions.
-Facilitate referrals of the beneficiaries to the different service providers upon their needs in consultation with the outreach team.
-Support the development of the family peer support groups for mutual exchanges based on families own experiences with disability
-Develop and implement specific strategies to deal with the needs of beneficiaries particularly who encounter difficult barriers.
-Educate persons with disabilities and their careers on how to prevent and/or improve living conditions.
-Develop and disseminate educational materials on disability/rehabilitation related for PWDs their families.
-Consult with staff members and careers to address the difficulties faced and offer recommendations for individual development.
-Participate in the conduction of the need assessment to the health care centers staff to identify their needs on how to become disability friendly staff.
-Develop training sessions for the health care centers staff based on their needs that identified in the need assessment.
-Organize and conduct training/awareness sessions for the health care staff on disability issues.
-Maintain beneficiaries records including initial assessment, file progress, and termination,
-Partake in writing a regular technical report according to the approved timeline and format.
-Participate in the capacity building activities and regular staff meetings.
-Participate on data collection about the project activities and beneficiaries.
-Participate in conducting satisfaction surveys for beneficiaries.
-Participate in meetings/visits to different stakeholders for the benefit of the project.
-Participate in developing and conducting the mobility/independency/participation assessment for beneficiaries.
Professional Qualifications:
-B.A in Physiotherapy from a recognized university.
-Valid professional license of Physiotherapy.
-At least 2 years of professional experience preferably in the local communities.
-Ability to work within a team.
-Ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds.
-Ability to cope with stress and work under pressure.
-Strong communication and reporting skills in Arabic and English.
-Strong computer skills.
