Role Summary & Duties and Responsibilities:
Role Summary
The Security Engineer role is to provide leadership to plan, coordinate, and implement security measures for Information Systems. Coordinates, assesses, develops, and communicates recovery requirements and contingency plans associated with a company’s Information System. This includes prevention, response, resumption, recovery, and restoration. Performs risk analyses which also includes risk assessment. Provides support to plan, coordinate, and implement information security policy. Provides support to define future programs, design and implementation of security.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Information Security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Managing Information Security annual budgets and long term strategies.
Performing preventive maintenance activities.
Maintaining Systems security controls.
Provides guidance to first responders for handling information security incidents.
Provides timely and relevant updates on investigation findings to relevant business units to help improve information security posture.
Analyzes potential impact of new threats and communicates risks to relevant business units.
Leads analysis of security vulnerabilities and system failures, and determines cost-effective countermeasures.
Provide consultancy and advisory services in selecting security solutions and tools.
Implementing Risk Assessments for IT nodes and services.
Managing all IT risks whether related to Information Security or business continuity and coordination with related people.
Performing internal audits to ensure adherence to Information Security best practices.
Work with the business and IT to develop or integrate systems while addressing and reducing risk.
Leading all Information Security projects.
Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits, and by reviewing security reports.
Conduct vulnerability assessment, and insure compliancy with security standards.
Provide gap analysis, and review the roadmap definition to meet standards requirements.
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
Minimum 4 years of experience in the Information Security or related field.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional – CISSP, CISA, ISO 27001
Skills:
Understanding of business security practices and procedures;
Knowledge of current security tools available;
Hardware/software security implementation;
Encryption techniques/tools;
Good Knowledge of computer networks fundamentals, standards, devices and operations;
Ability to work with others as a team member;
Ability to work under pressure and stress conditions;
Ability in resources management and well usage;
Ability to learn new things fast and accurate;
Ability to develop a clear understanding of the company’s key functional processes and resources;
Proficiency in Arabic and English (oral and written).
