Developing a Water and Sustainable Energy Nexus in the Levant Countries as a Measure for Climate Change, Adaptation and Mitigation (Resilience Building)

Project Manager

Friends of Earth in the Middle East for Environmental Development, a non-profit national development organization, is recruiting for the position of a regional project manager to be based in Bethlehem .The position requires travel and overseeing project activities within the region.

The project manager is part of the project management team to ensure that the “Developing a Water and Sustainable Energy Nexus in the Levant Countries as a Measure for Climate Change, Adaptation and Mitigation (Resilience Building)” project are carried out in a timely manner, and that implementation moves forward according to plan. The project manager works under the supervision of the General Director of the organization to implement the activities. S/he works closely with the implementing project coordinators.

Requirements of the position are:
-Master’s degree in Renewable Energy, preferably with background in the Water/Sanitation sector and climate change.
-Minimum of five years of practical experience in the field of renewable energy.
-Experience in preparing policy papers in the fields of renewable energy and climate change.
-Experience working with decision makers, community organization and ability to mobilize communities.
-Knowledge of local organizations in Palestine and capacity to develop strong coordination relationships.
-Experience and ability to work with partners.
-Experience in supervision and preparation of progress reports.
-Very good interpersonal skills.
-Strong communication skills-good command of the English language (speaking, reading and writing): ability to generate reports and documents in English.
-Good knowledge of German language is preferable.
-Strong computer skills (MS word and Excel).
-Ability and willingness to travel throughout the West Bank, Gaza and the region.
