2-SERVICE
The services Business Development/ Management Expert will work on Empowering Women Entrepreneurs and Enterprises to rehabilitate their Livelihood after the Gaza Crisis as part of a larger emergency response program at CARE International WBG that saves lives but also seeks lasting change. The Women Empowerment Project will be implemented in three governorates (middle, Gaza and North Governorates with particular focus on the most affected communities) of the Gaza Strip. The main goal of the project is to improve the socio-economic situation for affected households through rehabilitation of women businesses/enterprises and providing them with most necessary skills and knowledge.
3-Duration:
40 days starting from December 25, 2014.
The Consultant/s responsibilities and duties are as follows:
-Act as the business development/management expert for the women enterprises and the project team in Gaza.
-Work with the project team to publicize and introduce the project amongst the targeted local communities.
-Contribute to the development of beneficiaries’ needs and participate in conducting a business needs assessment and mapping to identify and assess the actual needs of each female owned or run business/enterprise.
-Work closely with the agriculture engineer and others to make sure that correct rehabilitation is in place and identify the business risks and potential.
-Hold training sessions relating to management, financial, quality, and marketing literacy for at least 30 selected women businesses.
-Establish and maintain strong relationships with targeted local communities including beneficiaries, project’s local supporting committees and any other relevant bodies.
-Collect data and information about the progress of the project’s inputs, outputs and indicators.
-Review, report, and provide technical support to the business development of women and managing their business.
-Discuss and consult with CARE’s Economic Empowerment Program Director and the project manager about business risks and immediate potential with a view to introduce innovative products or services in future.
-Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the Project Manager to assist the other team member in particular the agriculture engineer whenever needed.
-Other tasks as required by the Project Manager, as there is a need for a high flexibility in the implementation of this project.
4-SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
-Education: Minimum bachelor degree in business management or any other relevant.
-Five years business development or business management consulting experience in small scale enterprises in particular for women.
-Work experience with non-governmental sector, marginalized communities and relevant organizations.
-Ability to bring an entrepreneurial approach to all women businesses.
-Market research experience in addition to marketing/sales experience.
-Good command written and spoken English and Arabic.
-Good communication skills
-Ability to work individually or with a team
-Computer literate and familiar with MS Word, Excel, outlook, Power Point and Access.
-Good presentation skills and ability to facilitate group meetings particularly women.
-Training and coaching skills including project management. Financial, quality, and marketing literacy, communication skills, leadership, negotiations….etc.
