Project Manager Project Coordinator/Technical Specialist
Background on the project:
MA'AN has been awarded a project by CRDP and is now looking for a full time Project Manager and a Project Coordinator/Technical Specialist. The Project Coordinator/Technical Specialist should have experience in renovating Bedouin home and working with installing solar panels form homes is a plus. Both job stations will be Hebron with weekly trips to MA’AN’s HQ office in Ramallah. The duration is for eight months and the person needs to be available immediately.
PROJECT MANAGER Job Purpose:
The role of the Project Manager is to work with a team consisting of the Director General, the Program Director, and the Financial Director in carrying out the objectives of a project, ensuring comprehensive, timely and high quality outcomes of the assigned project.
Major Duties:
-Responsible for accomplishing project goals and objectives required within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.
-Developing a detailed implementation plan for the project
-Driving and supervising the completion of tasks
-Supervising the project team and ensuring the timely implementation of activities
-Monitoring, tracking and reporting project progress both for MA'AN and for the donor
-Responsible for maintaining the project budget and ensuring that spending is according to plan.
-Identify and manage potential and risks, taking corrective action by tackling day-to-day issues head on and reviewing how more serious issues and risks might impact on scope, schedule, quality and cost.
-Work directly with the team members to estimate effort, plan activities and negotiate consensus among individual team members on their appointed tasks.
-Responsible for bringing the project to a close, which will include creating an end of project report or evaluation document
Requirements:
Job Qualifications:
1-BA with five years experience or MA with three years in management, project management, development, engineering, or other related fields.
Skills
-Demonstrated ability and experience in project management and overseeing community development projects (including designing, preparing submissions to donors, monitoring, reporting, evaluating and partnership building), especially in a region with high levels of ongoing conflict and trauma.
-Demonstrated experience in financial management, especially of project budgets including planning, monitoring, currency exchange, acquittals and reporting.
-Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation
-Creativity and innovation in designing and managing new projects
-Leadership abilities and experience of working successfully in a team environment, including ability to handle conflicting urgent priorities, and difficulties in working relationship with partner organisations.
-High level of understanding of international development ideas and processes including gender, education, environment and labour rights issues.
-Excellent communication, representation, networking, administration and negotiating skills.
-Language proficiency (in speaking, reading and writing) in both English and Arabic.
-Demonstrated knowledge, awareness and understanding of issues relating to the current context of the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
-Commitment to trade union and international solidarity principles.
-Proficiency in WinWord, Excel and MS Project.
