Research Unit Support Manager
Palestinian Centre for Youth Economic Empowerment CYEE is a registered not-for-profit company. The centre recognizes that social, political and economic empowerment are integrated requirements for the pursuit of youth growth towards independence. CYEE envisages a free Palestine where young people have equal access to all opportunities, an understanding of their stake in society, and can take responsibility for their own lives and wellbeing. CYEE is seeking to employ an experienced research unit support managerto ensure the efficient planning anddevelopment of various programs.
Location:Ramallah
Duration:3 years
Responsibilities
-Prepare research studies related to the Centre’s strategy, guidelines, and upcoming programmes
-Revise reports and data gathered by research and advocacy
-Work closely with Research and Advocacy unit in gathering information relevant to the programmes carried out by the Center
-Contribute to the developmentof proposals through supporting the programmes development advisor with relevant statistics and data. Contributing todrafting current and future strategic plans of the Center.
-Establish linkage between the Development Advisor and Research and Advocacy unit to provide relevant data and input to draft and prepare programmes.
-Draft and prepare the Center’s policies and general positional opinions
-Prepare and analyze public opinion surveys
-Take part in developing working methodologies
Required Qualifications and Experience:
-Minimum Master’s Degree in Social or Political Science
-Minimum five years’ experience in research, analysis, advocacy and publishing papers.
-Ability to manage time and prioritize competing tasks, when necessary
-Flexibility in scheduling, location, and nature of work
-Good organizational skills and ability to work on own initiative;
-Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to other staff members with different levels of understanding and experience
-Ability to work closely with all staff, both local and international;
-Ability to network with stakeholders and to establish and maintain clear communication between stakeholders
-Excellent knowledge and experience in research methods, including qualitative and quantitative research, analyzing and collating results, as well as presenting these in a publishable format;
-A very good knowledge and understanding of youth needs and challenges facing them and understanding of the Israeli – Palestinian conflict;
