Under the general supervision of FAO Head of Office and direct supervision of the Administrative Operations Officer, the incumbent will perform a range of standardized security guard duties as indicated by the requirements and structure of the organization to ensure consistent service delivery.
Description of Responsibilities:
Summary of key functions:
Controls access to the office including key control;
Guards FAO vehicles when parked at the office compound, and maintain a log of vehicles in and out;
Carries out inspection rounds within the office, the immediate surroundings of the office, including vehicle parking;
Monitors and operate FAO system and other security systems;
Coordinates and assist building evacuation in case fire or office security related issues;
Acts as a telephone operator after working hours;
Escorts staff members leaving the office;
Keeps a log of security related actions and occurrences (routine and irregular);
Reports immediately to the FAO Admin. Officer all incidents that require action. In case of emergencies, e.g. Fire, bomb threat, break-in or accident, also contact the appropriate authorities;
Assists staff in performing clerical work;
Keeps up to date with UN/FAO security regulations and evacuation / emergency plans, complete mandatory training (Basic and Advanced Security in the Field training), other organizational training as advised by HR and proactively seek to improve FAO WBGS security through recommendations to FAO Administrative Officer;
Drives office vehicles in cases of emergency;
Performs other duties as and when required.

The key results have an impact on the execution of the security services in terms of quality and accuracy of work completed. Accurate data entry, presentation of information and client-oriented approach strengthens the capacity of the office in the provision of security services.

Qualifications :
Education: Secondary school education.
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience. Working knowledge of fire alarm and suppression systems, burglary alarm systems, and VHF radio is an advantage.
Language Requirements: Arabic mother tongue, working knowledge of English.
Other:
Ability to communicate effectively and with tact; basic knowledge in the use of office equipment.
Possession of valid license to drive in West Bank and Jerusalem.
Knowledge of Microsoft office applications and First Aid course are assets.
