Working Hours:30/week FFP
Freedom forum Palestine (FFP) is a Palestinian society non-governmental non-profit organization based on Democracy, Justice, and the Respect of Human Rights, it aims to disseminate and promote the concepts of individual and public freedoms and seeks to define these rights, by focusing on youth, women, community and political leaders to build a democratic society based on rule of law and social justice and respect.
In the framework of SADA Project for diminishing the basic commodities prices implemented by Freedom Forum Palestine FFP, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), under Civic Participation Program (CPP) funded by United states Agency for International Development (USAID), FFP seeks the services of part-time fundraising officer to accomplish the following:
Scope of Work:
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the FFP General Manager, the fund raising officer main function is to raise funds for FFP by developing and implementing an effective and ethical fundraising strategy for FFP in line with the organization’s vision. This should be designed to cover three main areas of fundraising: mapping, lobbying and actual applying for funds and mobilizing them.
The Fundraising Officer plays a key role in the organization and helps it to grow to scale and impact it’s programs. The fund raising officer is responsible for developing and delivering the organization’s fundraising strategies.
Key Functions
With the support from the FFP General Manger, the fund raising officer will be responsible for:
-Working towards raising funds for FFP activities (applying, followingâ€گup and receiving funds)
-Donor mapping: Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies, private corporations especially in light of corporate social responsibility provisions in various countries and government bodies)
-Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the vision, mandate and work of FFP
-Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for longâ€گterm sustainability of the organization and suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization.
-Participate and assist in the identification of needs and areas of support for organizations interventions in line with its vision and mandate.
-Develop a Fundraising Strategy for FFP (to include funding opportunities prioritized according to the best possible match between the requirements of FFP and donor interests).
-Provide inputs to improve and develop communications material for the organization.
-Prepare and manage under the supervision of FFP General Manger the writing of concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission
-Organize and provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization
-Prepare annual plans for fundraising and follow-up the implementation of the plan; in line with the fundraising strategy of FFP
-Work with FFP General Manager and FFP Project Manager to generate new prospects and gain new donor commitments.
-Report to FFP General Manager
Deliverables:
Project proposal/grant applications for specific sources of funding milestones to be developed as part of planning
-Donor database (updated from time to time)
-Fundraising plans (preferably annual) developed.
-Fund raising events (as per annual plans)
Duration and Nature of Appointment
The contract will be six (6) months contract with possibility to be extend, the fund raising officer will work 30 hours per week.
Qualifications & Experience:
-Preferable Master's degree in management, social sciences, or any related fields.
-Minimum of 7 to 10 years of strategic development and fundraising experience (including donor management, identification and liaison; as well as proposal writing).
-Knowledge of project cycle management.
-Demonstrated success in preparing proposals and grant applications that have been approved for funding.
-Sound knowledge of the current funding and business environment, donors orientation that are presently funding projects here.
-Familiarity with sources of funding for projects related to FFP works.
-Knowledge of fundraising cycles, proposal formats and application procedures for key donors, including Logical Framework Analysis.
-The ideal candidate would be energetic, flexible and adaptable in their approach and have excellent communication skills.
-Very strong knowledge of English .and Highly developed oral and written communications skills and ability to persuasively present and defend controversial issues/positions.
