Field Coordinator - YWCA - Ramallah and Jericho


In Partnership with Y-Care International (UK), and YWCA/YMCA Sweden, supported by Funding from the European Union, and Swedish Mission Council (SMC),

the YWCA of Palestine will be implementing a Three-Year Programme, titled “Empowering socially excluded young women in the oPt to become economically active and advocate for their rights with local decision makers”

The project seeks to enable 18 community based organizations in 6 villages in the Jordan Valley and Ramallah District to effectively support disadvantaged young women and men to improve their economic and social status and advance their ability to participate in economic decision making. The project seeks to strengthen beneficiary communities through career counseling, vocational training, entrepreneurship and business start-up and development services, including the provision of sub-grants, as a strategy for poverty reduction.

The YWCA of Palestine is now seeking to hire qualified, experienced and motivated persons for the implementation of this project

Field Coordinator

The Field Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Civic Engagement and Youth Development Manager, or Business Development Services Manager
The incumbent will have the following main responsibilities:
-Introduce and represent the project in the target communities, and establish community links
-Identify local governments, CBO’s, women organizations, and all other stakeholders in the target areas that the project will work in, to verify their relationships, responsibilities and capacities and needs
-Coordinate all meetings for all project staff in the Field with respective partners
-Coordinate all trainings and project activities in the localities where the project works
-Support young women and men to lobby for their rights and representation in local structures
-Engage the youth, women and all stakeholders in the campaigns to be organized by the project
-Conduct regular field visits and act as accompaniers to local partners, to ensure that they gain the necessary skills and capabilities to counter poverty
-Monitor all field activities and report to the Managers on the status of implementation, required support and deviations
-Assist the M&E Officer in establishing the baseline survey, and collect data from the field to feed into the baseline survey or project database/information system
-Prepare field monitoring reports and submit to the two Managers for review and action
-Regularly travel to field locations to support and monitor beneficiaries
Required Skills and Qualifications:
-Minimum Bachelors degree in business administration, development studies, social studies
-Minimum of 3 years’ experience in working with youth, women or other field work
-Experience with economic empowerment and/or civic engagement projects is an added value
-Participatory and organizational skills
-Fluency in both Arabic and English;
-Good communications and computer skills
-Willingness and ability to travel in West Bank, especially Ramallah and the Jordan Valley districts
