REQUEST FOR QUALIFIED TRAINERS - (Open to individuals and/or Firms) - Stars of Hope Society
Stars of Hope Society (SHS) is a leading organization for women with all types of disabilities in Palestine. The organization was established in late 2006 and became fully operational in 2007, with its national secretariat based in Ramallah. The organization is a Disabled People’s Organization (DPO) and is run by women with disabilities for women with disabilities. It is the only organization of its kind in Palestine and one of only a small number internationally. Stars of Hope Society seeks to ensure opportunities in all walks of life for all women with disabilities. SHS has received a grant from UN Women’s Fund for Gender Equality on women’s political empowerment grant with a focus on women with disabilities. The grant aim to increase women’s political participation, leadership and influence in the decisions that affect women’s with disabilities (WwDs) lives in the 3 targeted countries of the project (Palestine, Jordan and Egypt)
Stars of Hope Society is currently seeking experienced trainers in the following topics:
ICT& Social Media Engagement for Women with Disabilities :
Given the restrictions WwDs face due to their disability and gender, the use of social media and ICT has been identified as a most effective means in political actions, networkingand empowerment. Thus, the consultant will deliver a 4-days training. The training material (In Arabic) depend entirely upon previously developed guideline by SHS on the effective use of social media and ICT in Jordan, Palestine and Egypt. The guideline is available.
General Profile of the trainers
-Knowledge and experience in disability and working for persons with disabilities; in particular women with disabilities..
-Specific to (ICT and social media) Five years of relevant work experience as trainer preferably in use of media in political participation, advocacy and gender issues.
-Good social and communication skills, able to respect confidentiality.
-Excellent computer skills and knowledge
-Excellent Arabic language skills (reading, writing and speaking).
-Excellent reporting skills.
