This position will be based in SCI Jerusalem Office with frequent travel as needed to the West Bank .
Role Purpose:
To provide driving services and undertake general administrative functions for the Country Office.
Reports to: Fleet Coordinator
Starting Date: December 1, 2013
Contract Duration: 1 year.
Responsibilities:
-To transport SCI staff to desired locations within Jerusalem, West Bank and Israel, including Erez checkpoint.
-To ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and refuelled.
-To maintain log books and other paperwork related to the use of vehicles and ensure that log sheets are registered after each trip.
-Ensuring vehicles are clean (inside and outside) and has required equipment and security assets (e.g. bottles of water, tools kit, medical box, telephone charger, maps, documentation)
-Following procedures at checkpoints and when travelling in convoy.
-Observing safe driving practices and respecting speed limits as required within the law of Palestine and Israel
-Reporting any required maintenance to the supervisor, who will organise and advise on maintenance procedures.
-To carry out administrative or basic maintenance tasks within the office as requested
-To perform any other duties requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications And Experience:
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
-Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
-Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives.
-Commitment to Save the Children values
-Written and verbal fluency in English
-Hebrew language is a plus
-Holding of Jerusalem ID and valid clean driving licence.
-Strong Knowledge of roads and places within WB & Jerusalem.
-Ready to work to respond to any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere in oPt.
