World Vision is an international Christian humanitarian aid agency working with the most marginalized and poor communities of the world.
World Vision Jerusalem-West Bank-Gaza works in the Palestinian communities through long term impact areas called Area Development Programs (ADPs). Each ADP is established in one cluster of villages and focuses on various sectors in an integrated methodology that aims to achieve transformational development. Targeted sectors include education, agriculture, civil society, and economic development. World Vision Jerusalem-West Bank-Gaza is seeking a:
Community Development Officer - Ramallah
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct needs assessment and design community development interventions
Organize and facilitate trainings and community awareness events that promote the principles of democracy and civil society
- Mobilize groups and communities to work together on their common issues
- Provide guidance and training to CBOs to build their capacity and sustainability
- Write project reports and monitor budgets
Qualifications and Requirements:
-Bachelor degree in social sciences, education, or related field. Advanced degree in community development, social sciences, or a related field preferred.
-Minimum three years' experience in development work, preferably with an INGO
-Excellent knowledge of development issues in Palestine
-Demonstrated experience in designing community development interventions
-Experience in conducting and facilitating training courses a definite asset
-Effective skills in communication, fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English
-Proficiency in MS Office
-Ability to influence individuals and groups
-Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships
-Ability to think clearly, deeply, and broadly
-Receptive to feedback and committed to learning for growth and development
-Valid driving license, willing to travel extensively to rural areas
-Integrity and strong identification with World Vision Core Values
